We recently moved back to our traditional Orange and Black club colours, following a period in blue and white stripes. We're now delighted to confirm that our old blue and white stripe kit is now getting a new lease of life in South Africa!

Our kit was collected in by Mark Pickering who was keen to see the better quality kit reused rather than go to landfill, supporting our clubs approach to sustainability. It was then mixed with other teams and taken to Thula Thula, a private game reserve which is dedicated to the conservation, protection and survival of endangered species. Aside from the work that they do with the animals they are heavily involved in the local communities that surround them especially in terms of education. They arranged several villages to get together for a mini football tournament where they handed out some kit to the teams involved.

Kim Mcleod who works on the reserve commented “Thank you so much for this kind donation, there was so much happiness and fun on the village soccer field this morning, Vusi had arranged one team from each village to the play off and we also had so volunteers there who have brought gifts which we used for the winning team, so all in all everyone had a wonderful time and we will keep it up, there were actually some really talented children playing today! Some bare foot and some with one shoe but they just have so much fun playing it is a pleasure to watch.”
